As a reNEW Minnesota member, I also attended the Health Equity Forum last night. I was pleased with the large turnout. I was even more pleased with how well the evening went. There were some very powerful stories from Elizabeth Towle, Nancy Pomplun, Valory Belton and Robert Fischer.

The two candidates who stood out the strongest for me above the rest were Paul Thissen (for the same reasons stated above) and Mark Dayton. The latter has been an active Progressive since 1968 and has fought against injustice and inequality for over 40 years. Seeing health inequities happening in our country and our state affects him very strongly and deeply. He wants to be governor of Minnesota so he can be a leader in the resolution of these disparities that affect us all so much.

Thank you for the re-cap. Your writing reinforces my belief that we need to elect Senator Marty as Minnesota Governor, because he is the only one that recognizes that healthcare is a basic human right.
